We hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful summer we’re having! It’s a busy season for everyone so we thought we’d update you and your family. Your local Community Association has been busy hosting several activities and scheduling events for the fall. Take a moment and catch up!
What’s happening?
Lawn Bowling Success~ Lawn Bowlers have been out enjoying the great weather and a fun sport! We’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate Sandra Jefferies on winning a Gold Medal in the Women’s Four and David Jefferies who won a Silver Medal in the Men’s Four at the Ontario Championships held in Burlington Ontario June 12th -13th. They competed with teams from Ottawa and now will be travelling to Edmonton for the Canadian Championships in August. Best of luck David and Sandra! The Lawn Bowlers are always looking for new players and you are welcomed to come and try a game! Below you will see the schedule.

Annual Rummage, Flea Market & Bake Sale- October 16th, 17th, & 18th
Things are accumulating quickly for our annual event and we’re still looking for more! Tired of moving things from one room to the next, from the attic to the basement, or from one closet to the other?? If you would like to make a donation for the sale please don’t hesitate to contact any of the G.C.A Executive for assistance or we do accept donations on the back veranda at the Community Hall which is located at 119 Darwin Street in Galetta. We do appreciate your support and donations however we do ask that your donated items be in good working order and not damaged beyond repair.
Do you enjoy baking? We always have a wide variety of bake goods for our Bake Sale. If you are interested in donating your delicious treats to our Bake Sale please contact Lana Dean (613) 623-0113 for more details!

Six Hand Euchre Every Thursday Night in November, 7pm at the Galetta Community Hall
Mark your calendar now! Do you need a night out and enjoy a good game of euchre?? If so, you certainly will have a great evening filled with laughter, table banging and refreshments! The cost is $4.00 at the door and prizes are given at the last euchre. Please come out and try your hand!
Annual General Meeting November 22nd, 7:00 p.m at the Community Hall
Please plan on attending our Annual General Meeting and make sure you bring your friends!! We’re always looking for new ideas and feedback from the events that we host. There will be an election as we have to replace members of the Executive, so if you’re interested and want to be involved in your community don’t miss this important meeting.

On behalf of the Roast Beef Dinner Committee we would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered in the hall, donated baking, or displayed antiques at our Annual Roast Beef Dinner held July 17th at the hall. Special thanks to Ward 5 Councilor Eli-El Chantiry and Police Chief Vern White for attending our fundraiser and helping out by cutting and serving roast beef. The event was a great success and we really appreciate your community support!
