Lawn Bowlers: The Lawn Bowling Association had another great year on the greens! They had many new faces out and a record high for members at 43!! The Tournaments were well attended and locally the group had great success. David and Sandra Jefferies won Gold for Ontario and will be travelling to Midland Ontario to play in the National Competition held September 14th-19th. Good Luck!! Congratulations to Grant Fletcher who skipped the Seniors Triple Team from our District and won Gold in Sarnia Ontario. John Bennett, Chris Dickson, and Gordon Wright won the 3 Men’s Novice Division in the District and also travelled to the Provincial Competition in Woodstock and competed well. Thanks to Glenn Eastman for sharing skills and knowledge of the game to interested people who attended the Beef Barbeque. This seasons closing game will be held September 22nd at 3p.m and will be followed by a supper in the hall at 5p.m. After supper there will be a brief meeting.

Please contact Lawn Bowling President Glenn Eastman (613)832-2568 for more information.

Beef Barbeque: The Galetta Beef Barbeque was held July 4th at the hall and it was a great success. Thank you to all of the volunteers who assisted with setting up, cooking, serving, donating deserts, clearing tables and the clean up. This event would not be possible without all of your support and help. Thanks to everyone who supported our event and purchased a ticket. We had a lot of positive feedback and look forward to next year as this is a major fund raiser for our Community Association.

Looking Ahead!!

Annual Fall Rummage and Bake Sale October 17th, 18th, and 19th

Do you have items packed away that you know you’ll never use, clothes that no longer fit or suit today’s style, dishes, bedding, crafts, sporting goods, or books?? These are just a few items that will be available to purchase at our Annual Fundraising Sale. We have already received numerous items and are ready to receive more. Please feel free to drop of any donation at the hall. Please put items on the back veranda and we’ll be sure to put them in storage.

The Rummage and Bake Sale is our largest fundraising event of the year and to ensure another successful outcome we are asking for your help. Please volunteer and help us set-up, organize and sell these items.
