What’s happening?

Grass Cutting and Trimming Tenders Are Being Accepted NOW!:

Well, the season is here again!  We’re looking for a capable & reliable person or company to maintain the G.C.A grounds located at 119 Darwin St., Galetta.  This includes cutting the grass and trimming around permanent items.  The person must be 16 years of age and have experience using the provided equipment to complete the task.  A contract listing the required duties will be provided to the accepted tender applicant.

Well Water Testing- May 7th 10am-2pm & 6pm-8pm, May 8th 9am-12:00pm:

You are invited to pick up a water sample bottle at the Galetta Community Hall on the days listed above.  The samples must be returned to the hall on May 8th before 12:00pm.  The City of Ottawa will then notify you of the test results.

Beef Dinner Scheduled for July 27th, 2013:

Back by popular demand the G.C.A will be hosting the Beef Dinner once again!! Please keep an eye in the local papers for more information as we have more details to be confirmed at our next meeting!  We do need several volunteers to organize this event so any help is much appreciated!

 

Annual Rummage, Flea Market, and Bake Sale October 19th- 22nd, 2013- Mark Your Calendar Now!

You certainly don’t want to miss this event as it is the largest fundraiser that the G.C.A hosts!!  Rooms & tents filled with clothing, accessories,  kitchen ware, crafts, electronics, candles, sport equipment, furniture, books, children’s toys, and so very much more…….. all donated by our Community and other Organizations!  Thank you for helping us and remember it doesn’t end there!  We need lots of help to organize this event before it happens! Keep an eye out in your future Newsletters for the volunteer hour list!!  This is a great way for students to earn their compulsory volunteer hours and trust me the students we have had in the past have thoroughly enjoyed sorting the many treasures that we receive!!

Please note that we will not be accepting used TV’s, computers, printers or ceiling fans!!

 

Please remember you are always invited to attend G.C.A Meetings that are held the 4th Monday of each month at the Community Hall located at 119 Darwin St., Galetta at 7:00pm

 

 

 

A new season of Lawn Bowling is quickly approaching and this is a growing sport in our Community!  We have been often told that our Greens are one of the nicest in Ontario!  Come on out try your skills!!!
